We believe that every person, without exception, is created in the image and likeness of God. Because of this divine imprint, every individual possesses inherent worth, value, and dignity from the moment of conception. This dignity is not earned by performance, identity, or theological perfection, but is a gift bestowed by our Creator.
Following the example of Jesus Christ, we are committed to practicing ministry without favouritism or partiality. We reject all forms of discrimination, prejudice, or bias. Whether a person is walking in alignment with biblical standards or deeply entrenched in brokenness, they are worthy of our highest honour, deepest respect, and unconditional love.
We firmly declare that no human being is beyond the reach of redemption. No past action, current lifestyle, or degree of darkness can separate a person from the saving power of God's grace. We view every individual through the lens of their redemptive potential, trusting that the Lord is actively pursuing every heart to bring healing, freedom, and restoration.
We believe that sanctification is a lifelong process of being set apart and transformed into the image of Christ. We feel that physical evidence of faith comes in doing what the Bible says rather than just reading it. This transformation doesn’t happen through rigid behaviour modification, but through a living, personal relationship with Jesus. Because every person's journey is unique, growth occurs differently for each individual. In this process, grace and truth must always walk together; truth provides the ultimate standard of God's heart, while grace provides the safe environment and time needed for deep, authentic change.
The beginning stages of sanctification look different for every person, depending entirely on how far into darkness they’ve walked. For example, some individuals may genuinely declare Jesus’ Lordship and desire a relationship with Him while still affirming or living in lifestyles, such as addiction or homosexuality, that contrast traditional biblical standards. We firmly believe that a person’s Christianity and salvation are not negated by where they currently stand in their process of sanctification. Christ meets people exactly where they are.
We view sanctification through the analogy of an onion. For some people, certain breakthroughs or transformations happen immediately or very quickly. For others, the process is slower and requires many layers to be gently stripped from the onion of their hearts. For some individuals, it may take removing several layers of pain, trauma, or conditioning just to reach the point of declaring Jesus' Lordship, before they even begin the long road of lifelong sanctification. God is patient with the layers, valuing the honesty of the relationship over the speed of the result.
We believe that our physical bodies and the earth we inhabit are gifts from God, entrusted to our care and management. As a reflection of gratitude for these gifts, we maintain a position of stewardship where we consistently do our best to eat healthy foods, nurture our physical well-being, and prioritize natural alternatives and remedies when addressing health and wellness concerns. We recognize that honouring God includes caring not only for our bodies, but also the environment He created by doing our best to care for the earth.
While we passionately pursue a lifestyle of health and natural wellness, we stand firmly against any form of legalism or judgment in these matters. Dietary choices, lifestyle habits, and medical preferences are matters of personal conviction and wisdom; they possess no salvific power. A person's standing before God, their righteousness, and their salvation are secured solely by grace through faith in Christ, never by what they eat, drink, or choose for their physical care.
We believe that God’s love, mercy, and grace extend far beyond the comprehension of the human mind. We refuse to place limits on the depth of God's compassion, holding fast to the truth that His thoughts and ways are vastly higher than our own. We cling to the firm belief that He does not merely desire that none shall perish, but that He actively possesses a sovereign plan to redeem His creation. We believe that the Lord has a special plan for salvation in cases of profound human brokenness, tragedy, and limitation.
Where human understanding sees hopelessness, we trust in God's perfect justice and boundless mercy. Specifically, we entrust to His direct care:
Where human words and formal declarations fail, we trust that the Lord looks directly at the heart and executes His mercy according to a divine plan that surpasses our theological boundaries.
We believe that Holy Scripture and inherent human design are remarkably clear: the marriage covenant and romantic relationships were created by God to be uniquely between one man and one woman. Within this foundational definition of marriage, we recognize that homosexuality goes against God’s intentional design and is sinful.
While we stand firmly on this biblical standard, we believe this truth must always be communicated lovingly, gracefully, and with immense gentleness. We recognize that many individuals have perceived and experienced deep emotional harm when these truths are spoken harshly. Our heart is never to wound, but to reflect the compassionate character of Christ.
Above all, we believe that God is completely sovereign and has a plan, even for affirming churches. For many individuals who are deeply entrenched in homosexuality, an affirming church environment or leader may serve as the very first stepping stone needed to get a Bible into their hands. This unique connection can draw them a little closer to the Lord and initiate their journey toward His perfect will.
We always recognize that a person's current condition represents God's sovereign will for their life, in that He allows their current state for an ultimate redemptive purpose.
Maintaining the sanctity of the marriage relationship involves a commitment to moral standards as defined by these theological principles. While these standards are upheld, it is also emphasized that grace has no bounds. The belief is that through spiritual reconciliation, individuals can find forgiveness and a new direction consistent with these views of God’s intent.
We believe that protecting vulnerable people is a fundamental expression of the heart of God. We maintain a strict policy of zero tolerance for abuse of any kind, whether spiritual, emotional, psychological, physical, or sexual. Recognizing that abuse leaves deep spiritual and psychological wounds, we are fully committed to a trauma-informed ministry approach that prioritizes safety, voice, and long-term healing above organizational reputation.
We recognize that it is often difficult for humans to accurately distinguish vulnerability, as true power dynamics are not always visible to the naked eye. Vulnerability doesn’t always fit a traditional or expected mold. For example, in a situation involving a physically small person and a large person, a surface-level assessment might misjudge who holds the actual power, systemic advantage, or capacity for harm in that specific dynamic. True discernment requires looking past societal stereotypes to evaluate the actual spiritual, psychological, and relational leverage at play, ensuring that we recognize that everyone is at risk, and do our best to protect and preserve every human.
We firmly believe that spiritual restoration never bypasses civic responsibility or mandatory legal standards. We strictly adhere to all legal reporting obligations regarding abuse, exploitation, or harm, working transparently with civil authorities to ensure safety. Seeking protection for those who have been harmed is a mandatory prerequisite to any path of rehabilitation.
Upholding our belief that true accountability does not always equal imprisonment doesn’t diminish our absolute commitment to physical safety and strict boundary enforcement. For those who have committed acts of abuse, true accountability demands facing the full relational, social, and spiritual consequences of their actions.
Because our goal is restoration rather than vengeance, any process of illumination, repentance, or future reintegration must occur through a framework of absolute transparency and healthy boundaries. This ensures that the community remains entirely safe, protected, and honoured, while keeping the pathway to the light open for the offender.
We believe that true justice is inherently redemptive, reflecting God’s heart for healing, reconciliation, and restoration. We recognize that our human justice system as it stands, particularly within North America, is incredibly flawed, and often rooted in vengeance rather than genuine justice. It doesn’t accurately represent God’s perfect will.
Just as the Bible accurately records historical instances of human vengeance, systemic oppression, and broken cultural practices without endorsing them as His divine desire, so we must distinguish between legalistic human retribution and God's true standards. God’s model for justice is restorative, aiming to heal what’s broken rather than simply punishing the brokenness.
We advocate for a framework that prioritizes the restoration of the offender and the victim, recognizing that a true reduction in recidivism comes from encouraging change in the perpetrator. True justice doesn’t end with a sentence; it ends with healing, the restoration of right relationships, and the repair of the community. We believe in holding individuals accountable for their actions, but this accountability is not always administered by human hands, nor does it always mean jail time, even for the worst offenders.
Society's standard methods of punishment often fail to reflect the heart of God, which demands that accountability always be paired with profound compassion. Accountability without compassion degenerates into cruelty, while compassion without accountability ignores truth. When we shine a light into the darkness of a person's life, our purpose is never to expose or shame their darkness. Instead, we shine the light to illuminate their pathway out of the darkness and into the healing light of Christ. When truth and compassion are paired together, they create a safe environment for individuals to face their worst mistakes, experience deep genuine repentance, and be successfully integrated back into fellowship.
We believe that all spiritual gifts listed in Scripture are active today. We hold to a continuationist, charismatic theology. The supernatural presentation, signs, and gifts of the Spirit did not cease with the apostles. We actively welcome, encourage, and pursue the full expression of these spiritual gifts for the building up of the church, the edification of believers, and the demonstration of God’s power to the world.
We believe the Holy Spirit operates through supernatural demonstrations of His power. Including through:
We believe the Lord still appoints five-fold leadership within the modern day whom are meant to build up the church body.
Service-Related and Motivational Gifts
These are practical, day-to-day functional gifts. They are no less supernatural, as the Spirit empowers them to hold the church community together.
We believe that spiritual warfare is a vivid reality and that the followers of Jesus are recognized by their active authority in casting out demons in His name. While we cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude and praise God for every blessing, it’s integral to actively come against unholy forces.
This must be done verbally, because God alone is omniscient and the enemy cannot read our minds. While God is not beyond removing unholy forces supernaturally, we believe He most often does this work through humans who are surrendered to Him. Therefore, we must verbalize our rebukes of the enemy out loud.
This verbal warfare is not directed at the face of a human being, but to the unseen unholy forces affecting them, recognizing that our battle is never against flesh and blood.
Often, this can be done smoothly and strategically by weaving authoritative spiritual commands to unholy forces within casual conversation, allowing us to confront the spiritual root without causing unnecessary conflict or harm in our human relationships.
In the case of believers who actively declare Jesus’ Lordship, we can be a little more explicit in our rebuke of the enemy among us, yet always gentle in preserving the human throughout the process.
Just as a person's stage of sanctification is a process, we believe that if a believer is not yet at the point of driving out demons or speaking in other tongues, it absolutely doesn’t negate their salvation or relationship with Jesus. So long as they declare Jesus Lord, we fully trust that their heart is a matter strictly between that individual and God.
We recognize that the two greatest commands given by Jesus regarding spiritual oppression were simple: "Get out" and "go."
While Scripture explicitly warns that an unclean spirit can return to a swept house with seven of its friends, we look primarily to the sovereignty of the Lord, as demonstrated in Mark 5, to deliver people completely from unholy entities while restoring them to their right minds and an ability to seek Him. If a demon returns and a person temporarily finds themselves in a worse state, we trust that within God’s sovereignty, this is permitted so that the person reaches a point of absolute necessity where they finally cry out to God from the depths of their heart.
Our best practice is to always follow up deliverance and warfare with gentle introductions to Scripture, filling the newly created void with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Yet, we rest in the truth that the Lord always has a plan in His sovereignty, so we boldly tell those demons exactly where to go, whether it’s to wait in line for the pits of hell or into pigs ready for slaughter.
We believe that true Indigenous Reconciliation requires humility, truth-telling, and active partnership with Indigenous peoples. We must openly recognize and lament that immense historical and generational harm was caused by individuals and systems that claimed the name of Christ. In the spirit of mutual respect and justice, we fully uphold the inherent autonomy and self-determining agency of Indigenous nations, including their exclusive ability to define and determine Indigenous status and identity. We encourage transparency within, and honour the leadership, wisdom, and voices of Indigenous communities, committing to walk alongside them.
We recognize that when individuals and communities claim Christ and sincerely seek Him, the enemy attacks fiercely. Human actions don’t always accurately represent the Lord. No matter where a person or group stands on their unique journey of lifelong sanctification, spiritual warfare is a reality. These spiritual attacks often present themselves physically and socially in ways that are deeply painful and difficult to understand. We approach these complex realities not with judgment, but with spiritual discernment and a commitment to stand together against the works of the enemy.
We believe that Indigenous culture, heritage, and traditional expressions do not inherently conflict with Christianity. God has placed unique beauty, wisdom, and richness into the distinct cultures of the earth. A person does not need to abandon their cultural identity to follow Jesus.
However, we maintain a clear distinction between cultural honour and spiritual authority. We believe that Jesus Christ alone holds all spiritual authority over creation and human salvation. True spiritual freedom, cleansing, and redemption are found exclusively through the finished work of Jesus, nothing else. While we celebrate and respect cultural heritage, we believe that no ritual, no smoke, nor any other physical practice carries redemptive power; our salvation and spiritual authority rest solely upon the blood of Jesus.
